Tony Gonsolin To Throw To Hitters On Wednesday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin (ankle) had a "really good, really impressive" bullpen session on Sunday, according to manager Dave Roberts. The righty threw 40 pitches in two innings and will now head to Camelback Ranch to face hitters on Wednesday. Gonsolin finished the 2022 regular season with a 16-1 record, 2.14 ERA, and 119 strikeouts in just over 130 innings. He was also in the National League Cy Young conversation. Unfortunately, he rolled his left ankle in March, although he's expected to return at the end of April. With Ryan Pepiot on the 15-day injured list, Michael Grove is in line to get some starts. However, he's nowhere near as productive as Gonsolin or even Pepiot, for that matter.
