1 year agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (groin) is scheduled to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday. The veteran outfielder has been sidelined since early August due to a groin issue. It was uncertain if Marte was going to play again this season, but it appears he will. The team is hopeful that Marte will be able to return in time for the final homestand of the season. The assumption is that Marte will progress to playing in Triple-A by the weekend before rejoining the Mets' roster by early next week.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
