Saquon Barkley Wants To Remain A Giant
2 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley finished with 61 yards off nine carries during Saturday's postseason loss to the Eagles. He also caught two of his three targets for 21 yards. The Giants couldn't get past Philadelphia to advance to the NFC Championship. However, the organization has reason to be optimistic, considering Barkley played nearly the entire 2022-23 campaign and ended the year with 10 touchdowns and a career-high 1,312 yards. The 25-year-old, who is set to hit free agency come March, reportedly turned down a three or four-year deal from the Giants before the team's bye that would have paid him around $12.5 million annually. But now Barkley plans to meet with his agent sometime next week, although he's been vocal about remaining in New York moving forward. Either way, the former Nittany Lion did enough this season to be considered a first-round fantasy option heading toward Week 1. While his receiving numbers were nowhere close to what he produced during his inaugural season, he'll draw even more interest from fantasy managers participating in PPR setups. One thing is certain; there should be plenty of updates and rumors regarding Barkley's future in the months ahead.
