Ronald Guzman Placed On IL With Meniscus Tear
4 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman (meniscus) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a torn right meniscus. He is expected to miss an extended period of time. However, Rangers manager Chris Woodward doesn't believe the injury will be season-ending. Guzman suffered the injury during a collision in the first inning of Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. He had to be carted off the field. Eli White is likely to see an uptick in playing time with Guzman sidelined. Nate Lowe also has less competition for playing time at first base now, though he's been slugging his way into an everyday role anyways. Guzman can be safely dropped in any deep league in which he was rostered.
