3 months agoRoman Kopylov picked up a last-second knockout win over Chris Curtis on the main card of UFC Vegas 101. The Russian outstruck Curtis in the first round but did struggle a bit in the second round. In the third round, Kopylov turned to his wrestling as he attempted four takedowns, but he did land good strikes on the feet. As he had Curtis hurt, he landed a big head kick that dropped Curtis, and the fight was stopped. With the win, Kopylov is now 14-3 as a pro and 6-3 in the UFC. He should get a top-10 opponent next.--Cole Shelton

3 months agoRoman Kopylov (13-3) is set to take on Chris Curtis on the main card of UFC Vegas 101. Kopylov is coming off a decision win over Cesar Almeida to return to the win column after a submission loss to Anthony Hernandez. The Russian enters the bout as the betting favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,100. In the UFC, Kopylov is 5-3 and has won four fights by knockout while he's been finished twice. Should Kopylov beat Curtis, he should get a top-10 opponent at middleweight.--Cole Shelton

1 year agoRoman Kopylov had his four-fight winning streak snapped in the main-card opener of UFC 298 when he suffered a second-round submission loss to Anthony Hernandez. Kopylov started the fight very strong landing several big kicks and left hands but Hernandez was able to respond with solid grappling to end the first round. As the fight went on, it was evident that Hernandez was too much for Kopylov. Hernandez got on Kopylov's back and sank in the rear-naked choke. In 8:23 of action, Kopylov landed 35 significant strikes. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller

2 years agoAfter a shaky start in his UFC career that saw him drop his first two contests, Roman Kopylov has turned it around with vengeance, scoring finishes in his last two contests, including Saturday's showdown with Punahele Soriano. In 8:19 of action, Kopylov tallied 82 significant strikes compared to just 39 by Soriano. The end of the contest came with a second-round knockout/TKO by Kopylov after two big kicks found their mark, leading to the finish. Kopylov has proven he is ready for UFC competition and could be a major factor for fantasy managers moving forward on fight nights.--Matt Bricker

2 years agoLooking for his 10th professional victory, Roman Kopylov (9-2) will enter the Octagon on Saturday to face Punahele Soriano, who sports a similar record. After losing back-to-back matchups, the first losses of his career, Kopylov rebounded with a third-round knockout victory back in September. A dangerous finisher like his opponent, eight of Kopylov's nine career wins have come by knockout/TKO. DraftKings sees Kopylov as the underdog in this matchup, though, with a salary of $7,700. Regardless of who you choose in this matchup, look for this one to potentially end with a first-round finish.--Matt Bricker
