Renato Nunez Could See Significant Playing Time
4 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman Renato Nunez was added to the team's roster on Sunday after Miguel Cabrera (biceps) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Nunez played designated hitter and batted cleanup in Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians, going 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts. While Cabrera is out, Nunez could see semi-regular playing time at both designated hitter and first base. The 27-year-old is a proven power hitter who smashed 43 home runs over 203 games with the Baltimore Orioles the past two years. He's worth a look in deep leagues and AL-only leagues for fantasy managers in need of a short-term power boost.
