Reds Retain Manager David Bell For 2023 Season
2 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds will retain manager David Bell heading into the 2023 season next year, but they also let go of five of his assistant coaches after their 100-loss season. First base/baserunning coach Delino DeShields, hitting coach Alan Zinter, bullpen coach Lee Tunnell, advance scouting coach Cristian Perez and assistant coach Rolando Valles will not return with Bell next season. Bell has one year left on the two-year extension he signed with Cincy after the 2021 campaign. The Reds were ranked 26th in 2022 with a .676 OPS and 21st with a team average of .235. Their bullpen ranked 28th with a 4.72 ERA while tying the Pirates for the league lead with 296 walks.
