1 year agoThe New York Rangers have managed to pull in one of the biggest fish of the 2023 NHL free agency, signing Blake Wheeler to a one-year contract. The former Winnipeg captain is coming on the cheap as well, with reports saying that his contract will have a cap hit of only $800,000. Wheeler hit the open market just a few days before free agency started when the Jets bought out the final season of his five-year, $41.25 million contract. The 36-year-old has been a very reliable scorer throughout his career but took a step back last season, settling for 55 points in 72 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
