2 months agoLas Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce is not giving up on struggling running back Zamir White and wants to keep him heavily involved in the team's backfield moving forward. "I'm gonna keep pumping him up. Our goal is to get 20-plus touches with him. That was the goal this week, didn't happen. That's gonna be the goal this week and every week while he's the starting running back and I'm here," Pierce said. White has fallen flat through two weeks as Vegas' lead back in 2024, averaging a career-low 3.1 yards per carry on 22 attempts (68 yards) while catching five passes for only 16 yards. The Raiders basically abandoned the run in the Week 2 upset win over the Ravens, and it was concerning that backup Alexander Mattison vultured a touchdown. White is still the Raiders' go-to back, but volume could be a concern all year long. The good news is he has a smash Week 3 spot against the Carolina Panthers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
