4 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso hit his second spring home run on Thursday against the Houston Astros. He went 1-for-3 in the game with two strikeouts. His solo shot was the only run scored in the game. Alonso has had a solid spring, slashing .313/.450/.813. He had an inconsistent sophomore campaign in 2020, slashing .231/.326/.490 with 16 home runs and 35 RBI over 57 games. He closed the season on a tear with 10 home runs in September. He might be a bit streaky again in 2021, but there are few more promising power sources at first base for fantasy managers than Alonso.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
