Paul Byron Set To Retire From The NHL
1 year agoLong-time Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron appears to have played his final NHL game, with Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes telling reporters during a press conference on Tuesday that Byron will retire prior to the 2023-24 season. The 34-year-old already skipped the entire 2022-23 campaign with a left hip problem that has even affected his daily life. The ailing hip and other health issues also limited Byron to only 27 appearances the year before. He is hanging up his skates with 521 regular-season games under his belt. Byron started his career with Buffalo and Calgary before joining the Canadiens in 2015. He scored 98 goals in the league and posted 110 assists, helping Montreal to the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.
