Patrick Mahomes "Doing Good"
2 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) continues to work his way back from a high-ankle sprain suffered during the postseason. Although it didn't stop the Chiefs from securing another championship, fantasy managers are still concerned about Mahomes' health heading into the 2023-24 campaign. However, head coach Andy Reid provided a positive up while speaking to NFL Network's Steve Wyche at the Annual League Meeting on Saturday, reporting that the signal-caller is "doing good." "He jumped right back into workouts and working the ankle, rehabbing the ankle," commented Reid. "He's lifting and running the parts that he could run, and he didn't miss a beat on that." The 27-year-old is coming off a fantastic season, amassing 5,250 passing yards (career-high), 41 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 67.1% of his throws. He also added four more scores on the ground and was named both the league and Super Bowl MVP. Questions surrounding Mahomes' condition will likely follow him into OTAs and training camp. But based on Reid's recent comments, fantasy managers should remain optimistic.
