Nolan Arenado Showing Improvements From 2020 Season
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado was a disappointment for fantasy managers in 2020. Over 48 games, he slashed .253/.303/.434 with eight home runs, nine doubles, 26 RBI and 23 runs. So far through 2021, he appears to be on the verge of a bounce-back, albeit still not quite a bounce-back to prime Arenado production. Through 31 games this year, Arenado is slashing .277/.338/.496 with five home runs, nine doubles, 22 RBI and 14 runs. His xwoBAcon was just .291 last year, ranking him in the bottom 10% of the league. This year so far, he has a much-improved xwoBAcon of .368. His barrel rate is also up from 5.4% in 2020 to 8% this year. Don't expect a 40 home run season from Arenado this year, but he should be able to flirt with 30 home runs while hitting around .290.
