Mike Trout Runs The Bases Tuesday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (calf) ran the bases during a pre-game workout on Tuesday. It's a significant step for Trout, who has been out since mid-May after suffering a Grade 2 strain of his right calf. He'll need to run the bases at full intensity before he's ready to return, but it's surely a step in the right direction for one of the best players in the game. Fantasy managers continue to patiently await the 29-year-old's return, as he was slashing an incredible .333/.466/.624 with a 1.090 OPS, eight homers, 23 runs, 18 RBI and two steals at the time of his injury. Brandon Marsh picked up his first major league hit on Monday night and could continue to steal regular at-bats away from Juan Lagares in center field if he continues to hit. Marsh is worth a speculative pickup in deeper leagues and could even stick on the roster when Trout returns.
