Mike Minor Eager For Season To Start
4 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Mike Minor told reporters after his final spring star that he is "ready to have the games count." Minor made his final spring start against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. He went five innings and allowed five hits, three walks and two runs (only one earned) while striking out six. Minor made five total starts this spring and posted a 4.42 ERA and 1.25 WHIP while recording 21 strikeouts over 18.1 innings. He's scheduled to start the Royals' second game of the year against the Texas Rangers this coming Saturday. The 33-year-old Minor is entering his first year with the Royals. He split the 2020 season with the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics and went 1-6 with a 5.56 ERA and 1.235 WHIP while averaging 9.8 K/9.
