Michael Stone Retires From Playing, Moves To Front-Office Role
1 year agoCalgary Flames defenseman Michael Stone has announced his retirement from the NHL. The 33-year-old will begin a new chapter in his life and join the Flames' front office in a player development role. "I feel very happy to be able to leave the game the way I have and directly into this role with the Flames organization," Stone said. "I'm looking forward to working with the young defencemen and help them achieve their ultimate goal of playing with the Calgary Flames." Stone, who started out his career with the Coyotes before moving to Canada in 2017, skated in 552 regular-season games, logging 41 goals and 145 points.
