Martin Perez Could Rejoin Rotation
1 year agoTexas Rangers pitcher Martin Perez could rejoin the starting rotation for the final stretch of the regular season. Rangers' manager Bruce Bochy confirmed on Wednesday that Perez has a chance at returning to the rotation. The left-hander was shifted to the bullpen in early August. The 32-year-old was struggling in the rotation, so they decided to move him into a long relief role. However, the Rangers are in need of starting pitchers with Max Scherzer (shoulder) currently sidelined. Perez has allowed just two earned runs over his last 18 innings out of the bullpen. He could be an interesting streaming option if the Rangers do bring him back to the rotation.
