1 year agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Marcus Stroman (ribs) has been activated from the 15-day injured list on Friday. The right-hander has been out since mid-August due to a right cartilage fracture. Before going down, Stroman held a 3.85 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 111/50 K/BB ratio through 23 starts. It's uncertain when Stroman is going to rejoin the rotation or who is getting booted out of it. In a corresponding move, right-hander Daniel Palencia has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. He registered a 4.09 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 22/13 K/BB ratio through 22 innings out of the bullpen.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
