4 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien had a rough day in the team's doubleheader against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Semien went 0-for-6 over the two games with two strikeouts. He did, however, contribute an RBI in Game 1. Semien has provided solid power from the top of the Blue Jays' lineup with four home runs so far. However, he's struggled to get on base consistently. He's slashing just .194/.261/.387 on the year. He doesn't have any doubles or triples and his strikeout rate of 27.5% is higher than normal for him. Conversely, his 52.3% hard-hit rate is a distant career-high mark, so it certainly seems as if he's been selling out for power a bit more than usual so far this year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
