1 year agoPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback Marcus Mariota was brought in this offseason to be the backup to Jalen Hurts this upcoming season. However, the 29-year-old might've played his way off the 53-man roster, according to Mike Garafolo. Rookie quarterback Tanner McKee has exceeded expectations and earned praise from the coaching staff. On Thursday, McKee completed 19-of-34 passing attempts for 158 yards during the preseason finale. Honestly, McKee might've done enough to overtake Mariota for the backup gig.
