Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Continuing To Struggle At The Dish
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has yet to find his groove at the plate so far in 2021. Through 31 games, Gurriel is slashing .200/.223/.287 with two home runs, four doubles, nine RBI and nine runs. He has a hard-hit rate of just 34.4%, down from 49.4% last year. His .229 wOBA on the year ranks him in the bottom 5% of the league. He also ranks in the bottom 2% of the league with his minuscule 2.5% walk rate. Gurriel has been a must-roster outfielder in most leagues since his mid-2019 breakout. But fantasy managers might want to start thinking about jumping ship this year, especially with the scary underlying peripherals. In the deepest of leagues, he's worth holding in a bench spot if possible, but he's certainly a drop candidate in all leagues if there's a hot outfielder on the waiver wire.
