Jonathan Schoop Hits First Home Run On Wednesday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop has been ice cold at the plate to start the season. Going into Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was yet to record a single extra-base hit over 52 plate appearances on the year. Fortunately, he broke that streak in Game 2 of the doubleheader when he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his first of the year. Schoop is slashing a lackluster .182/.217/.236 on the year. He has just four RBI and seven runs. Schoop can be left on waivers in just about all leagues at this point. If he heats up at some point, he'll be worth a look in deep leagues and AL-only leagues, but fantasy managers can wait for that to happen before making a move on him.
