Jo Adell 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Huge Raw Power Held Back By Strikeouts
29 mins agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell (oblique) finally spent a full year in the majors, slashing .207/.280/.402 with 20 home runs, 62 RBI, 54 runs, and 15 stolen bases in 130 games in 2024. The 25-year-old suffered an oblique strain in September but is fully recovered heading into spring training. His exceptional raw power and speed are what made him a standout prospect, and it was promising to see those finally translate to the major league level. Adell's 115.6 mph max exit velocity ranked in the top three percent of the league, and his sprint speed ranked in the 86th percentile. However, the former top prospect struck out 27.9% of the time, contributing to his poor batting average and OBP. Surprisingly, it was still a step in the right direction, as his strikeout rates in the past two seasons were 40.3% and 37.5%. ATC is projecting him to slash .223/.291/.426 with 20 home runs, 57 RBI, 53 runs, and 13 stolen bases in 2025. This makes him a solid later-round option for five-outfielder leagues, with the chance to take a step forward if he can find a way to cut back on the strikeouts.
