1 year agoChicago Cubs infielder Jeimer Candelario (back) could return from the injured list as early as next week. The 29-year-old was placed on the injured list on September 11 due to a lower back strain. The good new is, Candelario has been making solid progress in his recovery. The Cubs could certainly use his bat as they continue to compete for a Wild Card spot. This season, Candelario is slashing .253/.338/.473 with 21 home runs and 69 RBI in 135 games between the Washington Nationals and Cubs. In the meantime, the combination of Patrick Wisdom, Christopher Morel, and Cody Bellinger should split up the playing time at third and first base.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
