Jakob Junis Pitches Well, Takes A Tough Loss On Tuesday
4 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Jakob Junis had a strong outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. Junis pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed six hits, one walk and two earned runs while recording a season-high nine strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Royals only managed to score one run in the game so Junis was tagged with a loss. Through six games and four starts this year, Junis is 1-1 with a 3.47 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP and a 28.7% strikeout rate. He's worthy of a roster spot in most leagues at this point. He may only go five or six innings at most in the majority of his starts, but he looks like he'll routinely be delivering quality innings. His next start will be on Monday against the Cleveland Indians.
