Garrett Cooper Reinstated, Jesus Aguilar DFA'd
2 years agoThe Miami Marlins reinstated first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (concussion) from the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday and designated first baseman Jesus Aguilar for assignment in a corresponding move. Cooper is back at first base and is hitting fifth on Friday against Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Tyler Anderson. The 31-year-old should be a regular for Miami down the stretch, and he'll return to a .269/.345/.415 line with seven home runs, 42 RBI and 28 runs scored in his 323 at-bats this year. Aguilar has mostly played every day for the Fish in 2022 and was hitting .236/.286/.388 with 15 long balls, 49 RBI, 37 runs scored and a stolen base in 415 at-bats. The 32-year-old right-handed slugger will be hoping to latch on with a contender before the end of the year.
