Edward Olivares To Serve As Reserve Outfielder In 2021
4 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Edward Olivares has only had 12 at-bats so far this spring, but he's made the most of them. He's gone 3-for-12 with two doubles and a home run. Olivares, who turned 25 this month, was acquired by the Royals in the 2020 trade that sent Trevor Rosenthal to the San Diego Padres. Olivares made his MLB debut with the Padres last year. Over 31 games with the Padres and Royals, he slashed .240/.267/.375 with three home runs, 10 RBI and nine runs. He could be a strong power/speed asset for fantasy at some point in the future. He stole 35 bases at Double-A in 2019. However, he'll need to earn more significant playing time first. Right now, he projects to be one of the Royals' reserve outfielders.
