Cody Reed Placed On Injured List With Hand Injury
4 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays have placed relief pitcher Cody Reed (hand) on the 10-day injured list with numbness and weakness in his left hand. It is a recurrence of an injury that forced him to miss time in 2020. Reed has made five appearances this year, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing four hits, three walks and one earned run while striking out three and earning three holds. The Rays' bullpen has suffered a number of injuries to start the season. Reed will be joining relievers Nick Anderson (elbow), Pete Fairbanks (shoulder) and Collin McHugh (back) on the injured list. Brent Honeywell Jr. was recalled on Tuesday and should work in both middle and short relief for now as Ryan Thompson and Jeffrey Springs figure to be the team's primary setup men in front of closer Diego Castillo.
