Brendan White Sharp To Start Camp
1 day agoDetroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Brendan White has looked sharp early in spring training. Jason Beck of MLB.com noted that the 26-year-old looked "strong" and flashed his "high-spin arsenal." Last season, White was limited to just seven 1/3 innings due to an elbow injury. He underwent a hydro-dissection procedure Tuesday to address radial nerve-related symptoms in August. However, seeing him look sharp in the early part of spring training is a positive sign. He made his MLB debut during the 2023 campaign and posted a 5.09 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP across 40 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 44 batters and generated ground balls at a strong 51.3 percent rate. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect the Siena College product to compete for a low-leverage role in the bullpen.
