Angels Agree To One-Year Deal With Phil Nevin
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels agreed to a one-year deal with manager Phil Nevin on Wednesday. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed. The news comes on the final day of the 2022 regular season, and the Angels will miss the postseason for the eighth straight year. Nevin became the interim manager earlier this year when Joe Maddon was fired in June during a team-record 14-game losing streak. The Halos have gone 46-59 since Nevin took over. Retaining the 51-year-old will give the club some stability as they head into an offseason of uncertainty with owner Arte Moreno planning to sell the team. There's also the situation with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, who can become a free agent after next year.
