A.J. Pollock Agrees With Mariners On One-Year Deal
2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners signed outfielder A.J. Pollock to a one-year, $7 million deal on Saturday. Pollock joins Teoscar Hernandez and Kolten Wong as the newest additions to the Mariners lineup. The deal will not be sealed until Pollock passes his physical, but there is a strong consensus to make it official. Pollock spent his 2022 campaign with the White Sox and composed a .245/.292/.389 line with a .681 OPS and 14 HRs. He maintained an 18.6% strikeout rate with a 92 wRC+. The 35-year-old spent considerable time on the injured list after suffering two apparent injuries throughout the season. His age has slowly impeded his ability to stay healthy, impacting his fantasy value. However, the Mariners expect Pollock to play a sturdy game in the outfield while contributing to the daily rotation.
