ANALYSIS: Washington Nationals outfield prospect James Wood has been one of the best hitters in the minor leagues this season and is quickly approaching his major league debut. Through 45 games this season with Triple-A Rochester, Wood has a stellar .355/.465/.596 slash line with nine home runs, 31 RBI, ten stolen bases, and a 35:37 BB:K ratio.
Since the onset of May, the 21-year-old has been on a remarkable streak, boasting a .400 batting average, a .506 on-base percentage, and a staggering .757 slugging percentage. He has also smashed seven home runs and 22 RBI and maintained a solid 16:13 BB:K ratio.

One of the most significant strides in Wood’s game this season has been his reduced strikeout rate. Compared to His 33.7% K rate at Double-A last season, he has impressively lowered it to 18.3% this season, showcasing his maturing skills as a budding superstar.
This is a great sign for him as he looks to be nearing his major league debut. He should be promoted sometime in June making him a must-stash in all leagues.
