ANALYSIS: Jalen Richard, an undrafted rookie out of Southern Miss, was an afterthought entering the season, with DeAndre Washington getting all the attention behind Latavius Murray. His combine numbers were underwhelming, as he put up a 4.65 40 time. Richard saw just 10 carries for 45 yards all preseason and wasn't even a lock to make the roster. Yet he caught everyone's attention by turning in one explosive play with a 75-yard TD run against New Orleans. He isn't guaranteed to see steady playing time, but now that he has shown what he is capable of, he could make himself a factor down the line. It's hard to project his exact usage at the moment, but dynasty league owners who were eager to snatch up Washington may want to consider putting in a quick claim for Richard to hedge their bet. At 5'8", 207 lbs he doesn't figure to see goal-line work, so temper your expectations, but keep a keen eye on him to see if he can replicate his early success.
