Fantasy Hockey Sleepers and Waiver Wire Pickups at Forward

Jonathan Huberdeau  (FLA, LW/C) 49% Owned

Hard to believe he is only 22 years old and already in his 4th season as pro. The 3rd overall pick back in 2011 is on pace for a similar stat line as last year when he picked up a career high 54 points. He benefits from playing alongside the ageless wonder, Jaromir Jagr. His ownership is climbing with the recent success. In the last two weeks he has recorded six points with 15 shots and a +5 rating. He can add alot of value to a re draft league and if he is available in your keeper league run to the waivers and reap the rewards for years to come.

Ryan Spooner (BOS, LW/C) 27% Owned

He is coming off two scoreless games but has been red hot the last couple weeks. He should be considered a pickup in 10-14 man leagues if you need some scoring help. In his previous eight games he has picked up 10 points including a four assist game and two goal game. He plays on the 3rd line with Jimmy Hayes and Frank Vatrano but still averages 2:44 on the powerplay.

Aleksander Barkov (FLA, C) 26% Owned

Another Panther player and linemate of above mentioned Jonathan Huberdeau. Barkov has take a huge step forward in his 3rd season in the NHL. In his first two seasons he had a -3 and -4 rating respectively but this year has improved on the defensive side and is sporting a +5 rating in 25 games. He has been a key contributor on the top line, helping the Panthers to the 4th ranked defense in the NHL. In the past two weeks he has five points, a +7 rating, 23 shots, and has added 66 faceoff wins for leagues counting faceoffs.
