NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, January 9th
Welcome to the Saturday night edition of our daily fantasy picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Tonight we have a large 8 game slate with six teams(CAR, CBJ, BOS, NSH, TB, STL) playing on back to back nights. There are also three teams(TOR, CAR, STL) playing a third game in four nights. Let's take a look at some core plays for tonight.
Martin Jones - Goaltender, Sharks (DraftKings - $6,900 FanDuel - $6,800)
The Sharks are in a great spot on Saturday night as they are -150 favorites to the visiting Leafs playing their third game in four nights on the road. Jones has struggled lately and hasn't received much offensive support but comes into this game with a 3-0 record and .944 save % vs. the Leafs.
Jeff Carter - Center, Kings (DraftKings - $6,100 FanDuel - $7,500)
He returned from injury on Thursday and recorded a goal against the Leafs on two shots and had a +1 rating in the Kings win. He provides a very high floor as he ranks 19th in shot attempts per 60 minutes which has produced 105 shots in 35 games this season.
Zach Parise - Winger, Wild (DraftKings - $7,900 FanDuel - $9,400)
He has been on fire his last two games with four goals on 12 shots and added a +4 rating. When healthy, Parise is an elite fantasy option for the Wild. He provides a high floor ranking 18th in shot attempts per 60 minutes(18.7) and also has multi point upside.
Patric Hornqvist - Winger, Penguins (DraftKings - $6,000 FanDuel - $5,700)
A great mid range option who is an excellent choice for cash games. He has six points in his last 10 games with three coming on the powerplay. In those 10 games he has added 46 shots on net which gives him a nice floor. The Penguins travel to face the struggling Canadiens on Saturday night.
Brent Burns - Defense, Sharks (DraftKings - $8,200 FanDuel - $7,200)
He is a high upside GPP play on Saturday as the price is at its peak. He has recorded 12 points in his last eight games with 38 shots and 14 blocked shots. He is now up to 35 shots on the year with a crazy 170 shots on goal.
