BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 47% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It's been an extremely disappointing start to the year for Colorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron. Through 13 games, including seven home games at Coors Field, Cron has slashed .195/.327/.750 without a single home run.
Cron is simply just not getting under the ball right now. He had an average launch angle of 20.6 degrees last year. So far this year, his average launch angle is just 2.4 degrees. He's still making some hard contact as his max exit velocity of 112.7 mph ranks amongst the top 7% of the league and he has a solid average fly ball/line drive exit velocity of 95.4 mph.
The Rockies are Cron's fifth MLB team in as many years and he's proven to be a strong producer of power numbers with each team. Don't expect the Rockies, who have the league's best hitting ballpark, to be the negative outlier in the bunch. Cron should come around soon and when he does, he'll be a great source of home runs. He should be rostered in all leagues of 12 teams or deeper. He's worth stashing on benches until he turns it around just because his upside is so high. He has legitimate 30-plus home run potential at Coors.
