Caleb Durbin Hits Second Home Run, Nabs First Steal Of Spring
17 seconds agoMilwaukee Brewers infield prospect Caleb Durbin smacked a leadoff home run, his second home run of the spring, in Monday's 5-4 Cactus League loss to the Reds. The 25-year-old also swiped his first bag of the spring after stealing 29 in just 82 games at Triple-A last season and running wild for 29 steals in 24 games during the 2024 Arizona Fall League. The former 14th-round draft pick is an on-base machine, walking more than he's struck out over his 281 MiLB career games (134:111 BB:K), resulting in a career OBP of .374. As of now, the right-handed hitter is projected to be on the weak side of a second base platoon in Milwaukee, but should he earn a full-time gig, the fantasy impact could be felt immediately. ATC projections see him stealing 13 bases in only 268 PA, but that feels more like a baseline forecast, so there's upside here. With eligibility at 2B, 3B, and SS on Yahoo, he's got added fantasy appeal, so managers should monitor closely in the lead-up to Opening Day for any positive playing time developments.
