Noelvi Marte 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Blocked From Playing Time
1 day agoCincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte had a disappointing 2024, starting with an 80-game suspension for PEDs to begin the year. After returning, he slashed just .210/.248/.301 with four home runs, 18 RBI, 24 runs, and nine stolen bases in 66 games. The former top prospect looked completely lost at the plate, striking out 31% of the time and walking at only a 3.7% clip. The Reds seem to have lost faith, too, with their offseason signings of Austin Hays and Gavin Lux seemingly blocking Marte from even making the team's Opening Day roster. He is still only 23 years old and has the skills that made him such a high-regarded prospect, but he will have to prove himself again in the minors. The youngster should be an afterthought in most fantasy drafts, but keep an eye on him throughout the season in case a promotion looks evident.
