BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 18% of leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler is dealing lately and he could soon be a permanent addition to someone’s fantasy baseball roster. In the past four games, Wheeler has notched at least five strikeouts. He’s allowed two earned runs, or fewer, in three of the last four appearances.
Even better, Wheeler is a two-start pitcher this week, facing the Phillies and Nationals at Citi Field. The Nationals and Phillies are 19th and 20th, respectively, in runs scored this season and the Phightin’ Phillies are fourth in team strikeouts (802) in 2018. While Wheeler has yet to win at home this year, he showed promising signs in his last start at Citi Field, pitching seven scoreless innings against the Pirates while striking out seven batters.
Wheeler ranks top 10 in both highest soft hit ball rate and lowest hard hit ball rate over the last 30 days, showing that he is limited solid contact. He could also see a bump in ownership if he is traded from the Mets to a contender, so scoop him up before it is too late.
