Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks and betting picks for 5/28/22. Expert WNBA DFS advice for DraftKings and FanDuel and today's best bets.

Two games on the WNBA slate today. Vegas takes on Chicago in the afternoon, then the Mystics face the Sun in the night games. Some good teams in action on Saturday, with all four expected to be contenders for the title this postseason, barring unforeseen circumstances between now and the playoffs that knock those teams out of contention.

I'll be providing daily fantasy lineup picks for the WNBA this season here at RotoBaller. In addition, I'll be sprinkling in some basic betting picks. Not going to get complicated since there's limited space in this piece, but I'll throw you a bet or two each day that I like and, because I think this is important, that I'll be making myself.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/28/22. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slate locks on 5/28/2022 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Forwards

A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) - @ CHI - DK: $9,900, FD: $8,800

Wilson averaged a double-double against the Sky last year, with 17.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. She only shot 37.7% in those three games, but volume helped her post some well-rounded numbers. Wilson's scoring numbers are down this season as the Aces have focused more attention on the perimeter, but she's shooting 54.2% and has a lot more space to operate in this year. She's also averaging 2.5 blocks. Chicago allows the fifth-most blocks and rebounds per game.

Brionna Jones (Connecticut Sun) - vs WAS - DK: $8,500, FD: $6,800

Jones is coming off one of her best games of the season, scoring 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. She played 31 minutes, her most minutes in two weeks. The team will need to rely a little more on the interior players with Jasmine Thomas done for the year. This also projects to be a good matchup for the Connecticut bigs because Delle Donne is out, leaving the Mystics thin up front.

Shakira Austin (Washington Mystics) - @ CON - DK: $8,300, FD: $6,700

Elena Delle Donne is out again due to rest, opening up more minutes for Austin. And with Myisha Hines-Allen struggling some lately and Elizabeth Williams still not playing a ton, I'd expect to see a whole lot of Austin. She's averaging 9.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. Those numbers jump to 11.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game when starting—and barring a surprise, Austin should start on Saturday.

 

WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Guards

Natisha Hiedeman (Connecticut Sun) - vs WAS - DK: $8,400, FD: $5,800

Hiedeman's price jumped more on DraftKings than it did on FanDuel, which is something to keep in mind when building your FanDuel lineups.

In her first game since Jasmine Thomas had her season-ending ACL injury, Hiedeman played 31 minutes, scoring 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting with three rebounds, six assists and three steals. The increase in volume for Hiedeman makes her an intriguing play...though I'd guess at some point soon, she might end up being priced too high to be viable nightly play.

Kahleah Copper (Chicago Sky) -vs LV - DK: $7,500, FD: $6,200

Copper isn't shooting well. She was just 3-for-11 last game. But she's got some good indicators going for her right now that suggest she'll start to have some really good games: she's on the floor a lot, she takes double-digit shot attempts, and she's already rebounding well, which raises her floor. The shots are going to start falling. But until they do, it's her fantasy salary that's falling. Buy that fall.

Ariel Atkins (Washington Mystics) - @ CON - DK: $7,400, FD: $6,500

As mentioned early, Delle Donne is out.

Let's look at Atkins' games without EDD this year:

  • 5/8 @ MIN: 20 points on 6-for-17 shooting with four rebounds and five assists
  • 5/20 @ ATL: 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block

Atkins has had some down games this year. But when Delle Donne is out, Atkins has been stepping up. And that's something I'll take a chance on again on Saturday, especially on DraftKings, where Atkins is a real value at $7,400. On that platform, she had 35.0 and 27.25 fantasy points in the games without Delle Donne.
