WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (9/3/20): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 9/3/20. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

Y'all ever have a night where you thought you did something and then realize you forgot? That was me last night. I made my DraftKings lineup yesterday morning, had to leave my computer before putting the lineup in, and then by the time I got back to my computer, had forgotten completely that I hadn't submitted it. So when I went to check my DFS score mid-game -- nothing.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/3/20. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

WNBA - DFS Guards

Diana Taurasi (G, Phoenix Mercury) – vs Indiana Fever (DK: $11,500, FD: $7,300)

I'm mainly targeting two games today that I think will be high scoring and ignoring the defensive battle that Aces/Sun is shaping up to be. And if we're focusing on offense, why not take Diana Taurasi, who has been on fire. A pair of 30-plus point games in her last four appearances, including 32 points and seven assists against a good Vegas defense. Indiana, who have the league's worst defensive rating, don't stand much of a chance against Taurasi. Her shot could be off -- that happens -- but if it is, I don't think Indiana's going to be the ones to get the credit for that.

Chennedy Carter (G, Atlanta Dream) – vs New York Liberty (DK: $8,600, FD: $5,400)

A matchup of the second and third worst teams in the league by defensive rating and the two worst by win/loss record, this game has the potential to be a high-scoring shootout, and in a high-scoring shootout, I want Hollywood Carter. Since returning from an ankle injury, she's scored 20-plus points in two of her three games, and against Indiana worked her way to the foul line well, going 8-for-10 from the stripe. She finished with 22 points, six assists, two rebounds, and a steal. Love the upside here.

Paris Kea (G, New York Liberty) – vs Atlanta Dream (DK: $5,300, FD: $3,000)

It's always a good thing when the cheapest guard on a slate (FanDuel in this case) is a starter. In this case, it's the newest Liberty addition, Paris Kea, who was inserted into the starting five against Connecticut. There's no guarantee Kea winds up starting the rest of the year, but it sounds like the team wanted to get Layshia Clarendon moved off ball more, so Kea has a good shot to start, play 18-20 minutes, and taken enough threes while she's on the floor to score double-digit points. She can also dish out a few assists and add a steal or two. Most importantly, her low salary will really help with lineup building.

WNBA - DFS Forwards

Amanda Zahui B (F, New York Liberty) – vs Atlanta Dream (DK: $9,300 FD: $6,800)

Let's target this matchup one more time. Amanda Zahui B's ability to stretch the floor should trouble Atlanta center Elizabeth Williams, opening things up for Swedish big to put up solid numbers. She's coming off one of her worst games of the year, a two-point effort against the Sun in which she was 0-for-6 from the field, and she's a combined 2-for-18 in the past two games. But she's grabbed double-digit rebounds in four consecutive games plus had multiple blocks in three straight. Her work on the boards gives her a solid floor, and her upside as a shooter gives her upside. Am I worried that she scored just two points in the first meeting with Atlanta? Oh yeah, but I think this one should go better.

Kia Vaughn (F, Phoenix Mercury) – vs Indiana Fever (DK: $7,800, FD: $5,800)

The Mercury are really shorthanded right now. Vaughn has played 27 or more minutes in four consecutive games and has at least eight points in each of those. She hasn't dominated on the glass -- that's been Brianna Turner -- but with a matchup against a struggling Fever defense, I like Vaughn's upside IF you don't have the salary room to pay up for Turner.

Teaira McCowan (F, Indiana Fever) – vs Phoenix Mercury (DK: $7,400, FD: $6,000)

Finally, Teaira McCowan is playing like many of us expected. She's coming off of her second 20-point game of the season, going 5-for-11 and making 10 free throws against the Dream. Her rebounding numbers haven't reached her 2019 levels, but she's grabbing a good number of them, blocking shots, and finally looking like the dominant big that Indiana needs her to be. She'll face some defensive pressure from Kia Vaughn and Brianna Turner in this one, but I think it's fine to bet on McCowan's upside.
