WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (9/2/20): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 9/2/20. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

So, Diana Taurasi went off last night, didn't she? Apologies for not writing about her in yesterday's article. But hey, all of the players I wrote about yesterday scored 30 or more DraftKings points, so missing out on Taurasi wasn't a total bummer, right?

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/2/20. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

WNBA - DFS Guards

Courtney Vandersloot (G, Chicago Sky) – vs Minnesota Lynx (DK: $10,600, FD: $7,200)

This is a slate that's heavy on the top forwards, so I think an interesting strategy to combat how highly-owned a lot of them will be is to invest heavily in guards instead.

The last time Courtney Vandersloot stepped onto a WNBA floor, she was breaking the single-game assist record, dishing out 18 of them against Indiana. She won't have 18 again, but she's the best bet of any guard on this -- or any -- slate to get you those double-double bonus points. She did have a season-low four assists in the last meeting with Minnesota, but there's been lineup changes since then, and I think Vandersloot can take advantage of a matchup with the undersized Crystal Dangerfield.

Chelsea Gray (G, Los Angeles Sparks) – vs Dallas Wings (DK: $8,900, FD: $6,800)

From the league's best point guard to the league's other best point guard. Gray's shot has been off lately, but she's now a combined 9-for-18 from three over the last five games, suggesting that Gray's shooting woes might finally be shaken off. She'll get plenty of chances to score against a young Wings team on Wednesday as she looks to bring her streak of games shooting over 40 percent from the floor to eight games. And let's not forget that she can get you five rebounds, five assists, and a couple of steals most nights as well.

Jewell Loyd (G, Seattle Storm) – vs Washington Mystics (DK: $8,500, FD: $6,000)

Sue Bird is expected to play in this one, which lowers Loyd's ceiling a little, but Bird will probably play sparingly, and I love this matchup against the Mystics so much, as they've been one of the league's worst defensive teams lately. Loyd's numbers have been inconsistent, but she's getting double-digit shot attempts most nights, continues to work her way to the foul line, and has the hands to poke some steals away and deliver some well-placed passes for assists.

WNBA - DFS Forwards

Candace Parker (F, Los Angeles Sparks) – vs Dallas Wings (DK: $10,800 FD: $7,400)

Picking between Parker, Napheesa Collier, and Breanna Stewart for this spot was hard, but with Nneka Ogwumike out, I think enough responsibility falls to Parker in this matchup to make her the one I'd prefer. With Nneka out last game, Parker had an off game, scoring eight points on five shot attempts while adding nine rebounds and three assists. But Dallas doesn't have the same level of interior presence to slow down Parker, and her ability to grab 10-plus rebounds while dishing out five to seven assists to go along with what she does as a scorer makes her a strong play.

Ruthy Hebard (F, Chicago Sky) – vs Minnesota Lynx (DK: $6,400, FD: $5,700)

Hebard moved into the starting five last game since Azura Stevens is done for the year. She responded with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks. If Hebard is a starter again, she'll have a good chance to repeat those numbers due to volume, even if the matchup against the Lynx is much scarier than the one against the Fever was. There's risk here, but her increasing workload makes her basically like playing Stevens if you took away Stevens's threes. Not as strong a play, but still someone with solid upside and a good floor.

Kristine Anigwe (F, Los Angeles Sparks) – vs Dallas Wings (DK: $4,600, FD: $4,300)

Here's today's dart throw. With Nneka Ogwumike out, Anigwe has a chance to play serious minutes at the five, backing up Candace Parker and then also playing beside her a lot. Last game, Anigwe played 17 minutes, adding eight points and six rebounds. So, while she's not going to reach the moon tonight, she's a solid punt play with upside, especially because this is one of my favorite things: a revenge game.
