WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (8/27/21): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 8/27/21. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

We have a couple of WNBA games on Friday night, so let's do some DFS picks.

The Sky visit the Storm, while the Mercury head to New York to face the Liberty. Some good storylines there.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/27/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Guard

Courtney Vandersloot (Chicago Sky) - @ Storm - DK: $10,300, FD: $X

Matchups against the Storm are always scary, but this isn't the best guard slate, so I'm going to go with the talent of Courtney Vandersloot.

For one, she's had 10 or more assists in four of the past five games, which is always good when it comes to fantasy. She's also shot really well over the last two games, which hopefully is a sign of things to come after consecutive nights shooting under 30 percent to start the post-break section of the season.

But even on those bad shooting nights, Vandersloot had 20-plus fantasy points. Her passing makes her one of the highest-floor plays you can find.

Allie Quigley (Chicago Sky) - @ Storm - DK: $8,500, FD: $

Quigley has been incredible since the Olympic break, with 34-plus fantasy points in each game.

Now, her salary is starting to catch up to her strong play, but it hasn't caught up so much yet that I'd pivot off of her, especially when she's had a strong game already lately against Seattle.

Quigs is the league's best shooter. She's shot 40 percent or better from three in five consecutive games. On a slate that I've already said isn't my favorite when it comes to guard value, I'm going to want a lot of Quigley.

DiDi Richards (New York Liberty) - vs Mercury - DK: $5,700, FD: $

Sami Whitcomb is out with an ankle sprain, opening up more minutes for DiDi Richards on the wing.

One of the best defenders in college over the past few years, Richards has suddenly developed a three-pointer after not making any threes at Baylor.

Against Phoenix last game, Richards played 25 minutes, scoring 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting -- WITH FOUR THREES!!! -- and also added three rebounds, one assist, and one block.

Richards always has a lot of upside defensively, with the chance to collect steals and blocks. But her newfound offensive upside mixed with her increase in minutes makes Richards a great value option.

WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Forward

Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm) - vs Sky - DK: $11,100, FD: $

I like the idea of getting Stewie in a lot of lineups because...well, she's Breanna Stewart.

She's scored 50-plus fantasy points in each of the last two games, including putting up 18 points and 16 boards against Minnesota. She's recorded multiple blocks in three consecutive games and she's bound to add a couple assists just for good measure.

She also posts these numbers regardless of how the team is playing. Even if the Storm have an off night, Stewart's going to get hers on the stat sheet.

This will be her first game against Chicago this season, so we don't have any past evidence from this season to go by. But last season, Stewart averaged 23.0 points per game against this team. I think this is an obvious play.

Brianna Turner (Phoenix Mercury) - @ Liberty - DK: $9,000, FD: $

Assuming Brittney Griner (sprained ankle) misses this game, I think Turner is a must-play.

Despite the recent addition of Natasha Howard to the lineup, New York remains susceptible to big games from forwards because the rest of their frontcourt rotation isn't the best defensively.

Turner is coming off a huge game, with 10 points and 15 rebounds against this team. She's grabbed at least 10 rebounds in five consecutive games, and has four blocks over the past two games.

And with no Griner, I'd expect a few more shot attempts from Turner, who hasn't had more than nine attempts in her last three games. Add in some extra shot attempts and I see no reason that Turner can't get you 35-plus fantasy points, with the potential to jump into the 40s. Great play -- and still worth a play even if Griner is magically available, because she's been doing this rebounding with Griner playing.

Kia Vaughn (Phoenix Mercury) - vs Sky - DK: $4,400, FD: $

Another "if Griner is out play," Vaughn played 14 minutes against New York last game, scoring nine points on 4-for-6 shooting with an assist. Her numbers lately have been down since her role has been reduced, but when Vaughn gets minutes, she can perform.

In the two games where she's played at least 20 minutes, Vaughn is averaging 6.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. She also had a solid end to the 2020 season when Brittney Griner was out, averaging 10.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 10 games as a starter.
