WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (7/9/21): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 7/9/21. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

Just three days left before the WNBA pauses for the Olympics.

Three games on Wednesday's slate, as the Wings visit the Lynx in the early game, followed by a pair of late games as the Mercury and Aces play and the Sparks face the Storm.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/9/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Lineup Picks

Guard: Skylar Diggins-Smith (Phoenix Mercury) - vs Storm - DK: $9,700, FD: $X

Diana Taurasi sat out last game and Diggins-Smith responded with a huge game. In 43 minutes because the game went into overtime, SDS had 27 points to go along with eight assists, one rebound, one block, and one steal.

If the Mercury hold out Taurasi again, Diggins-Smith is a must-play option. She'd run the point full-time with Diana not playing, upping her assist upside. It's not the easiest matchup, but the upside is too great.

Guard: Jazmine Jones (New York Liberty) - @ Fever - DK: $6,300, FD: $7,500

Jones has been playing some really good basketball lately, including posting 20-plus fantasy points in each of the past two games.

Jones is coming off a strong game against Dallas which saw her score 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting, including a 3-for-7 night from three. Lots of upside for Jones as a shooter right now, something you might not have expected based on her results as a rookie.

Against this struggling Fever team, Jones should be able to make a big impact. With Rebecca Allen out, there will be a lot of minutes available for Jones on the wing, which should give her a good amount of three-point opportunities.

Guard: Shey Peddy (Phoenix Mercury) - vs Storm - DK: $4,000, FD: $5,200

Sleeper alert! If Taurasi misses this game, Peddy becomes super, super interesting. She played 20 minutes last game, scoring eight points on 2-for-8 shooting with five rebounds and two assists.

Getting someone who can take eight shots and drain multiple threes at this rock-bottom price is really, really intriguing. Phoenix has a lot of depth issues, so no Taurasi seems guaranteed to mean 20-ish minutes for Peddy. That's worth the risk.

Forward: Sylvia Fowles (Minnesota Lynx) - @ Aces - DK: $11,400, FD: $9,100

There's some money to save on guards tonight, which opens the window to spend big at forward.

One option is Sylvia Fowles. She goes up against the Aces, who you might think are a bad matchup for a center since Vegas has Liz Cambage. But Cambage has been outplayed a lot of the time by good centers, including by Fowles in their last matchup.

In that game, Fowles had 30 points on 12-for-20 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds, plus she added four assists, four blocks, and four steals. Just a monster game that resulted in 69.5 DraftKings points.

The sky's the limit for Fowles in this matchup.

Forward: Jonquel Jones (Connecticut Sun) - vs Dream - DK: $10,900, FD: $5,000

Jonquel Jones missed some time for EuroBasket, then returned and has been just about as good as before.

She's scored 30-plus fantasy points in each of the three games since she returned, posting at least 16 points in each contest, plus at least one block and one steal. Her rebounds have been all over the place since she returned -- the emergence of Brionna Jones has limited some of Jones' ability to just go wild on the glass -- but she has a high rebounding ceiling against a team like Atlanta.

Plus, Jones can put a bunch of points up. She took 17 shots last game, though shot just 29.4 percent. Get that percentage up and Jones could be staring at a huge night.

Forward: Kylee Shook (New York Liberty) - @ Fever - DK: $7,500, FD: $4,700

Shook's ability to stretch the defense should allow her to find success against the Fever, who are missing the injured Bernadett Hatar and have Teaira McCowan at center.

Shook's minutes are up and down, but she's a solid rebounder who'll take between five and seven shots in this game. She's recorded a block in five of the last six games and had at least eight rebounds in four of the past five.

Shook's actual scoring will be hit or miss -- she had no points against Washington, for example -- but she does enough other stuff to make her a solid upside play against this Fever team.
