WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever)  - @ NY - DK: $10,200, FD: $7,800

Boston had a solid game in her first post-All-Star appearance, scoring 11 points and grabbing eight rebounds in a win over Washington. Not her best showing, but a game like that really feels like her floor at this point. Boston's Indiana's best player, and she's had at least seven rebounds in 10 consecutive games, and has scored in double figures in five straight.

And during this five-game span, she's exceeded 20 points twice. One of those games? Against this Liberty team. New York's dealing with injuries at the five right now, and Boston took advantage of that, going 10-for-19 for 23 points while adding nine rebounds, two assists, and one steal in the loss.

Tianna Hawkins (Washington Mystics)  - vs. PHO - DK: $8,300, FD: $6,100

With Shakira Austin and Elena Delle Donne both hurt and Myisha Hines-Allen just not really playing like she's capable of, veteran Tianna Hawkins has had to be Washington's best front court player.

And she's doing a pretty good job of it. Hawkins, who has now played 30-plus minutes in six consecutive games after she averaged just 12.8 minutes per game in 2022, is coming off a 14-point effort against the Liberty. That marked the fifth game in a row that she's scored at least 10 points. She's also had at least four rebounds in each of those games, and multiple assists in all of them.

Emma Cannon (Indiana Fever)  - @ NY - DK: $5,700, FD: $4,400

NaLyssa Smith last played on July 9 and has been out since due to a stress fracture in her foot. That's opened up more minutes for veteran forward Emma Cannon.

And I don't just mean it's opened some minutes. Cannon wasn't even in the rotation when Smith was healthy. In the last game Smith played, Cannon didn't see the floor.

But in the first post-Smith game, Cannon saw a huge leap in her playing time, as she was on the floor for 27 minutes. She was 7-for-9 from the floor with 19 points in that one while adding eight rebounds and one assist.

She followed that up against the Mystics by playing 21 minutes, scoring 13 points on 5-for-12 shooting with five rebounds and two dimes. She made multiple threes in both contests.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Brittney Sykes (Washington Mystics)  - vs. PHO - DK: $10,500, FD:  $7,200

Sykes has really just taken over this Mystics team. She scored 29 points on 9-for-22 shooting last game, the third time in the last five games that she's scored at least 26 points. With a lot of key offensive contributors out, the scoring load is falling on Sykes.

That should continue against the Mercury on Sunday. The Mercury have allowed the fifth-most points per game in the WNBA this season and the team ranks last in defensive rating. They've managed a couple good defensive games in a row since the All-Star break, but they've allowed 90-plus points seven times this season.

Courtney Vandersloot (New York Liberty)  -vs. IND - DK: $9,100, FD: $6,900

Vandersloot scored 12 points last time out, ending a streak of four games in a row where she'd scored in single digits. But she had just three assists, which also ended a streak, as he's had seven or more assists in five consecutive games.

It'd be great for DFS purposes if we could get the scoring and the assists in the same game, and maybe we will on Sunday. She had 12 assists the last time she faced the Fever, though she was held to just six points on 3-for-9 shooting. But she did have 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting the first time these teams met.

Shey Peddy (Phoenix Mercury)  - @ WAS - DK: $5,900, FD: $4,500

Diana Taurasi is set to miss this game, her second absence in a row. And if this game plays out anything like her last missed game did, you'll want to have Shey Peddy in your DFS lineup.

Peddy didn't see a major change in minutes, as the 21 minutes she played last game was a season-high, but was also just two minutes more than she played in the previous game. But without Taurasi on the floor, Phoenix asked Peddy to do a lot more, as she scored 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting with six rebounds and one assist.
