WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (6/28/19): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 6/28/19. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings and FanDuel.

We've got three games on tonight's WNBA slate, and while it's not the most exciting group of games from a competitiveness perspective -- Chicago and Seattle is the only meeting between teams that are currently in the playoff picture -- there should still be some good basketball to watch.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/28/19. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

WNBA - DFS Guards

Erica Wheeler (G, Indiana Fever) – @ Phoenix Mercury (DK: $8,600, FD: $7,100)

Wheeler is in the midst of the best season of her WNBA career, and that should continue on Friday against the Phoenix Mercury. Phoenix is allowing opponents to shoot a league-high 41.4 percent from three on the year. Wheeler is shooting 46.3 percent from deep on 3.4 attempts per game, but that isn't all she's doing for the Fever, as she's also shooting 50 percent from the field, 95.5 percent from the free throw line, and adding in 5.8 assists per night. Wheeler's on a hot streak to start this season, and Phoenix has struggled enough defensively for me to trust that Wheeler will keep it going.

Arike Ogunbowale (G, Dallas Wings) – @ New York Liberty (DK: $8,000, FD: $5,800)

Ogunbowale's DFS price is starting to spike after some strong performances, but she's in a good spot to put up another strong game on Friday when Dallas visits a New York Liberty squad that allows a league high 86.7 points per game. New York's opponents shoot the fourth-highest three-point field goal percentage and average the third-most assists. This is a perfect spot for a volume shooting guard who has attempted 18 threes over the past two games to take advantage. Ogunbowale's rookie campaign got off to a bit of a slow start, but she's on fire now, and the Liberty don't have the backcourt defense to slow her down.

Jordin Canada (G, Seattle Storm) – vs Chicago Sky (DK: $5,800, FD: $6,200)

Don't really think I'd play Canada at her FanDuel price, but I would at her DraftKings price. Jewell Loyd injured her ankle in Seattle's last game and will miss at least two weeks, which puts Canada -- who just recently returned from an injury of her own -- in a good spot to play a lot of minutes and run the Seattle offense. Canada was just 1-for-9 from the floor in her return, but don't expect that to continue for a second straight game. Canada's also a good passer and a gifted perimeter defender, someone capable of turning any defensive look into a steal and a basket on the other end.

WNBA - DFS Forwards

Natasha Howard (F, Seattle Storm) – vs Chicago Sky (DK: $10,800, FD: $8,500)

But while Canada will definitely see an increase in her role, it will continue to be Natasha Howard who dominates things in Seattle. Howard has the ability to be a nightly 20 and 10 player, especially if she sees an increase in her usage with Loyd out. The Storm are already in a spot where they've needed Howard to step up and fill a major role offensively, which she's done a great job at, so I don't doubt she picks up some of the slack from the team losing their second-best offensive option, Loyd. She's also able to collect blocks inside while hitting from the perimeter on the other end, and Chicago allows the fourth-most points in the WNBA. Howard is once again a strong anchor for your teams, one I like better than the other options of Tina Charles -- who has been very inefficient lately -- or Brittney Griner.

Kayla Thornton (F, Dallas Wings) – @ New York Liberty (DK: $7,900, FD: $6,100)

With Glory Johnson currently in Europe, the Wings frontcourt is basically Kayla Thornton right now. While she was held to seven points and four rebounds in her last game, that game was against the WNBA's best defensive team, the Connecticut Sun. New York isn't Connecticut, and Thornton should be a threat to finish this one with a double-double based on her recent usage. She has the ability to score from inside and outside while also averaging three assists per game over the Wings' last three games.
