After a few mediocre seasons with the Mets, Justin Turner turned it all around and found success in Los Angeles where he batted .340 in 2014 and .294 in 2015. While the major dip in average may be alarming, it came with a significant increase in power as Turner blasted 16 HR in 2015, more than doubling his total (seven) from 2014. He also hit over 20 doubles in each of the last two seasons.
Fantasy baseball owners are now left wondering which Justin Turner will show up to spring training in 2016. Will he go back to his 2014 form and have possibly the highest average in all of baseball, or will he continue to give up those singles and trade them for several more home runs? It certainly seems fair to suggest the possibility of a middle ground, where Turner finds comfort in a .300 average, and still manages to increase his home run total by a few. Any type of repeated success with minor improvements would make Turner a top 10 third baseman. If he is still available behind names like David Wright, and Jung Ho Kang, you should pounce.
