What to Make of Nate Washington Moving Forward?

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 34% of Fleaflicker Leagues

ANALYSIS: > There’s no questioning that the Houston Texans’ receiving corps is led by DeAndre Hopkins by a pretty wide margin. Nate Washington is not to be overlooked though. Hopkins, Cecil Shorts, and Nate Washington make a pretty sneaky three wide set that has some upside. Washington himself averaged about nine targets in the first three weeks of the season before getting hurt, and then came back in Week 7 with a 127 yard two touchdown bang. Week 8 saw him get 74 yards and a touchdown before the Texans’ Week 9 bye.

So what have the past three weeks shown us? Well, the truth. Washington is more of a “field stretching” type of receiver, averaging 15.1 yards per reception on the year, and those numbers continue to reflect that. He is more of a standard league type of receiver, getting chunks of yardage rather than racking up receptions, though that isn’t to say PPR owners shouldn’t roster him. He is a feast or famine type. He has gotten 15 targets in the past three games, catching seven balls for 88 yards and zero touchdowns. The Texans wil face the Bills, Patriots, Colts, Titans, and Jaguars to finish up the 2015 regular season. Know what you’re getting in Washington, but games against the Patriots, Colts, and Jaguars could readily turn into games where points are flying. Live the risk/reward life.
