UFL DFS Lineup Picks: DraftKings Daily Fantasy Fantasy Advice for Week 8

UFL DFS PICKS, FANTASY FOOTBALL, DRAFTKINGS, FANDUEL

The top daily fantasy UFL lineup picks for DraftKings for Week 8 (2024). Kyle Ringstad provides UFL DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome to Week 8 of the inaugural UFL season, RotoBallers! The Birmingham Stallions won the battle of the titans over St. Louis in Week 7, so they'll be taking their undefeated record into a home matchup against the Houston Roughnecks this week. The Stallions are 16.5-point favorites, so there's a chance we see a good chunk of garbage time action in that one. The Memphis Showboats will trot their overmatched defense into Michigan for a matchup against the Panthers in the game with the highest implied total on the slate at 46.5 points. St. Louis will take on D.C. at home, and Arlington will face San Antonio in the other two matchups of the week.

Below are my thoughts on DraftKings' Week 8 DFS slate of UFL contests, which goes live on 5/18 at 4 pm ET. I encourage you to read all our other weekly UFL fantasy football articles and stay on top of injury news and roster moves to remain well-informed and ahead of the competition. Let's get to it. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings Quarterbacks - Week 8 UFL DFS Picks

Adrian Martinez - Birmingham Stallions vs. Houston Roughnecks - $11,000

We don't have a choice here; we must keep playing this guy. Martinez has averaged 33.3 DK points per game over his last four starts, and no other quarterback in the league comes close to that production level. A blowout is likely as the undefeated Stallions are massive 16-point favorites at home against Houston, but that doesn't mean Martinez can't put up a huge score. He finished with 29 DK points against them in Week 5, rushing nine times for 138 yards while putting up 155/1 through the air. Houston's defense is vulnerable, so I'm returning to the well with the top QB in the UFL in Week 8.

Luis Perez - Arlington Renegades vs. San Antonio Brahmas - $9,400

The UFL's leader in passing yards and completion rate put up a big score for us last week, completing 27-of-32 attempts for 296 yards and three touchdowns. While San Antonio has a much better defense than the Memphis unit he destroyed in Week 7, I still like his chances of continuing the momentum in Week 8. Quarterbacks with high passing volume often pique my interest, and Perez has attempted at least 36 passes in four of his last five games. This matchup also has a high 46-point implied total, suggesting Perez and the Renegades will put up points against the Brahmas in San Antonio.

DraftKings Running Backs - Week 8 UFL DFS Picks

Jacob Saylors - St. Louis Battlehawks vs. D.C. Defenders - $9,500

We will have to pay way up to get to him, but Saylors again looks like an intriguing option at the running back position. A.J. McCarron is looking iffy to suit up with an ankle injury. McCarron being inactive may put a slight dent in the offense's explosiveness, but St. Louis will likely lean on their star running back even more without their star QB. Saylors leads the UFL with 17.3 DK points per game, and he's coming off a monster performance as he put up 29.8 DK points in Week 7 against Birmingham. The Defenders are on tap for Week 8, a team that has allowed the most rushing yards per game and ranks last in PFF's "run defense" grade.

Larry Rountree III - Birmingham Stallions vs. Houston Roughnecks - $5,000

Rountree will get another crack at game action as he has been announced as active ahead of Week 8. This is a significant development as he'll serve as the RB2 with C.J. Marable inactive in a game that could get out of hand quickly, with Birmingham favored by 16 points. The last time Marable was out - Week 5 - Rountree rushed nine times for 50 yards and a touchdown. There are only seven RBs priced ahead of him on this slate, and we can save a ton of salary by taking a chance on the former 6th-round pick in Week 8.

DraftKings Wide Receivers and Tight Ends - Week 8 UFL DFS Picks

Sal Cannella - Arlington Renegades vs. San Antonio Brahmas - $6,400

We can mix in receivers Tyler Vaughns and J.P. Payton in our stack with Perez, but I like Cannella the best when considering salary. No one has been able to slow the tight end down lately, as he has produced games of 10 (Week 5), 17.2 (Week 6), and 30.2 (Week 7) DK points over his last three games. He reeled in 21-of-25 targets for 164 yards and three scores during that span. He and Perez have a great connection, and I think he exceeds salary-based expectations again in Week 8.

Marcus Simms - Michigan Panthers vs. Memphis Showboats - $7,600

Danny Etling seems to have taken over the quarterback job in Michigan, scoring 15 and 17.6 DK points in soft matchups against Memphis and Arlington heading into Week 8. He's not lighting the world on fire, and I won't get too much of him at quarterback this week, but he has shown enough for us to have some confidence in his pass-catchers in the right matchups. The Panthers get the exploitable Memphis Showboats at home this week, and Simms is overdue for a big game.

Memphis allows 254 passing yards per game, the most in the UFL by almost 50 yards. They have also allowed 16 passing touchdowns in just seven games. This team can't stop anything through the air, and I love Simms as an overlooked piece in a game with the highest implied total on the slate at 46.5 points.

Marlon Williams - Birmingham Stallions vs. Houston Roughnecks - $7,100

Deon Cain is still the WR1 and is priced as such, but Marlon Willimas has come on strong over the last few weeks and deserves strong consideration as the stacking option with Martinez in Week 8. Williams doesn't see many targets, but he makes the most of them, as he has found the end zone four times in his last four games. Houston isn't the best matchup for wide receivers, but they've allowed the second-highest yards per catch (10.9) in the league to this point.
