Fantasy Football Injuries From Sunday: Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater, Tyler Lockett, James Conner, Jakobi Meyers

James Conner - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Top injuries from Week 17 fantasy football for RB, WR, QB, TE (2022), as of 1/2 -- Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater, Tyler Lockett, James Conner, and Jakobi Meyers.

The new year is here, but that doesn't mean injuries to key fantasy football assets won't still come in bunches. The majority of leagues are over after Week 17, but for leagues that extend to Week 18, we've still got you covered. We have the latest news on banged-up players with fantasy significance and their early status heading into Week 18 as of Monday, January 2nd, 2023. This article focuses only on players who suffered injuries on Sunday of Week 17 games.

Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater, Tyler Lockett, James Conner, and Jakobi Meyers picked up bumps and bruises in Week 17. We can't know for sure how these injuries will progress before game time in Week 18, but it's never too early to at least take a look at the group of key guys to prepare for waiver wire Wednesday or Thursday.

Nick Foles Injury Update

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles (rib) was ruled out early from the Week 17 game against the New York Giants. He exited in the second quarter after a big hit that left him on the ground in agony. The veteran had gone 8-for-13 with 81 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception before departing.

Sam Ehlinger took over for Foles and has a shot to start against the Houston Texans in Week 18.

Teddy Bridgewater Injury Update

Miami Dolphins quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (finger) exited Sunday's loss to the Patriots. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided an update, reporting that the signal-caller suffered a broken finger on his throwing hand, putting his availability in doubt for Week 18 against the New York Jets. However, he will undergo further imaging to determine the severity of the injury.

Bridgewater got the start for Tua Tagovailoa (head), who was ruled out with a concussion, and finished with 161 yards off 12-for-19 passing while throwing a touchdown and a pick. If Tagovailoa doesn't clear concussion protocol and Bridgewater can't go for the AFC East matchup, Skylar Thompson would likely be in line to start. Thompson went 12-for-19 passing for 161 yards, one touchdown, and one pick, so he isn't the most enticing option on the planet for fantasy managers.

Tyler Lockett Injury Update

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (leg) briefly left the field but eventually returned to Sunday's meeting with the New York Jets. The wideout dealt with a finger injury heading into this one, so adding another injury isn't ideal. Lockett wasn't very involved before suffering the injury and ultimately finished with two catches for 15 yards.

Since he was able to return and Seattle is very much in the playoff mix, there's a solid chance he'll be good to go against the Los Angeles Rams next week.

James Conner Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner finished with a team-high 16 carries for 79 yards during Sunday's loss to the Falcons. He also contributed three catches for 31 yards. Unfortunately, the veteran suffered a shin injury late in this one, allowing Corey Clement to compile 32 yards off seven touches.

Conner will likely have further testing before the Cardinals' season finale against the 49ers. However, considering Arizona has nothing left to play for, it's possible Conner won't be back on the field for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign.

Jakobi Meyers Injury Update

New England Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (shoulder) exited Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins early with a shoulder injury. He injured his shoulder during a touchdown catch in the fourth quarter and did not return. The 26-year-old caught six of his nine targets for 48 yards and a touchdown before exiting. Meyers will undergo further evaluation after the game and is considered day-to-day.

Fantasy managers will need to monitor his practice status throughout the week. Meyers has been New England's top wide receiver, and his absence would be a slight blow to the Patriots' offense against the Bills for the regular season finale. Tyquan ThorntonKendrick Bourne, and Nelson Agholor would see an uptick in targets if Meyers cannot play in Week 18.
